5 ways to say I love you

haven't proofed this so please bear with me. hohohoho.

Seriously, I must warn you about how I am not a professional to talk about relationships. No psychology degree or relationship-igy. I’ve been in a few and some didn’t quite worked out but I learned how every single one of these relationships had its share of ‘kilig’ moments and every guys way of saying I love you.

Many had serious attempts of saying how they feel, it will either be a happy ending or you just embarrassed yourself. How many languages and dialects are there in the book on how to say I love you? I’m not really sure but I think everyone can survive a lifetime using every god damn word in the dictionary. Anyways, here’s a little something-something for everyone to ponder on. 5 ways to say I love you.

Recently, I’ve read CJ de Silva’s blog post about the Jerks and the Assholes every girl will encounter. This is sort of like that, the assholes that probably lied on how they felt and the good guys who, well, are the hardest to find.

The high school best friend
Many girls have this, a high school guy best friend. It’s that or they’re gay. I had one, Mark Singson. The closest thing I have next to a brother. We we’re inseparable after high school but drifted away after a few months. Luckily, I bumped into him at a party. We talked all night while everyone else was getting wasted. When I was about to leave, we made beso-beso and when I turned my back on him. I heard him say “I love you”. I turned around and asked. “What? You said something?” then he turned pale. I heard him, but I wanted him to man up and grow some balls to tell it to my face. And, that was the last time I saw him.

The starving writer

I used starving because that’s what he called himself, until he got this high-paying writing job for a multinational company.

Us and our friends used to dream together, dreams that didn’t really went the right way. We wanted to make short films, write novels and even form a rock band. We used to drink every weekend at Cubao X, exchanged poems, short stories and even A|V scripts of our future short films.

Oh yeah, did I mention he got a high-paying job for a multinational company? And after he did that, he was travelling here and there. And on that months and years he was abroad, he still sends me poems and short stories. After more than a year that he was overseas, I got a package, a book. “All the things I should have said by John David. There I read, “For Sky, whom I loved all my life and she has no clue, until now.”

It caused butterflies and confusion; I can’t believe someone dedicated a book to me. Or is it really for me? Or maybe it’s for another girl named Sky.

The business mogul

Before we go to him, I would like to make it clear that I am not a really big fan of long distance relationships, I think it will never work out and the exact reason why you have someone with you are for them to be with you. Anyways…

I met Chris Lopez when I worked as a financial adviser for JP Morgan Chase a couple of years ago. He just got back in Manila from Jeddah. They own a business in Jeddah and is here in Manila to take care of unfinished business. We went out for a couple of months then I decided not to see him anymore.

After 3 or 4 months, he told me he’s going back to Jeddah. For good. And because I knew long distance relationships don’t work out that well, I decided to say one last goodbye and dropped him off the airport. He got out of the car, got his things and kissed me on the forehead and then he said it. “I love you”.

And that was the last time I saw him and heard of him.

The party animal

I had my fair share of parties; drinking and dancing til the morning. I met one guy there, and he remains my friend til now. His name is Marvin Miranda. My party buddy, my wingman. He helped me get free shots, beer and even food. He handled the VIP guest list of Embassy. Yes, you read that right, Embassy. The first bar I ever went to. He introduced me to all his VIP guests, politicians, athletes, celebrities and even company presidents. He did wonders to my PR skills. The game plan every Saturday night is to pick me up at my place at 7 pm, have dinner somewhere in Fort and go to Embassy by 10pm where his guests are expected to arrive.
We party every weekend for about 3 months and I eventually got tired of it and went back to my boring old life.  He texted me to attend one of their annual parties, who am I to say no to free beer right? So I went to Embassy at 10pm sharp. He wasn’t there but the bouncers insist that I go in and just wait inside. So there was I, in a bar, alone. And a stranger approached me to dance and I said, “Sorry I’m waiting for someone”. Next thing I know, punches we’re thrown here and there.

Me and Marvin ended up in the parking area and that’s when he held my hand and said how he really felt. This was his exact words, “I’m sorry for bringing you into this world, the wild parties. I don’t know what this means but … I love you.”

The basketball star

He’s multi-hyphenated, model-baller-writer-host-chef-racecar driver. And that is every reason why girls line up and scream. I’ve been in the sports industry as long as I can remember and I was used to being around tall good looking guys. I’m used to gorgeous models. I worked with all of them.

I often call them dear when I text them, then Jay came along and asked me out for dinner, late night drinking, wall climbing and all these things he’s in to. We are not going out or having dates, or at least that’s what I think. Everyone thought we we’re together but we we’re just friends and that’s no press release.

My blackberry was broken and he gave me his spare BB so I won’t have to buy a new one. I gladly accepted because I know that he knew how important my phone is to me and my job.
One night he BBM-ed me, asking me what I was doing, I told him I’m at a styling gig and will be finishing late. He then said take care. After 2 hours he called me and told me about his day and before he hung up he told me. “Hey just so you know, I love you.” All I said was “I know”.
Does it really matter how one says it? Does it even matter when they said it? Or does it only matter who says it?

Girls have this weird way of telling, if someone likes or loves them, they will figure it out. That’s how sensitive girls’ feelings are, before you say it, they already know. There will be no surprising when it comes to feelings because it’s either we’ll fall in love first or you’ll admit it first.

I think the words I love you is overrated, coz it’s one of the most commonly used phrases nowadays. We often spit it out when we get caught in the moment, though some don’t mean it, they say it.

For me, it doesn’t really matter how one says it but every time someone profess their undying love to you, you can’t help but have that ‘butterflies’ in you stomach kind of feeling. I told myself that these words will only count if the other says it back. It will only count if the feeling is mutual.

These 5 guys are the typical guys a girl can encounter in their life, as for me, among these 5 ways how someone said I Love you, I have only said I Love you back to one. Only one meant it the way I wanted him to mean it and he is the only one who is still here til this very moment.

shoes and shopping- perfect combo

I didn't realize I've been blogging so much drama for the past few months, and I can't really think of anything sensible to post but ever since I worked as a "Sports PR", my addiction to shoes grew to a much higher scale. Now I came from heels, pumps, wedges and boots obsessed to men's basketball shoes. If only I have the guts to pull off wearing em.

Here's two that I love!♥
